ABOUT ME:
Hi! My name is Faith Hilvert and I am from Mountain Home, Arkansas. This fall I will be going into my second year of a five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree plan at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design at the University of Arkansas. I am majoring in Architecture and minoring in Interior Design and General Business. I am an honors student with a 4.0 standing and a Fay Jones student ambassador. I am also a member of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) and serve on the executive team of the school's chapter of a non-profit branch of AIAS known as Freedom by Design (FBD).
I selected my major after attending a design camp at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design. The idea of going to the camp was brought to my attention by my high school guidance counselor. She connected my passion for art and design and was aware of the camp. At that time, I was leaning toward a degree in engineering or the medical field with no real desire to pursue either of those paths. Attending the design camp opened my eyes to a field that I could see myself immersed in. I fell in love with the collaborative studio culture and the creative freedom that was prominent in the atmosphere. I plan to use my degree to become a licensed architect and use my knowledge and abilities to create experiential spaces in innovative structures. Ultimately, I want to work alongside highly motivated individuals and creative, problem-solving minds in improving the world in which we live.
